High Real Estate Group Breaks Ground on New Apartment Development in Greenfield
High Real Estate Group LLC (HREG) is excited to announce the groundbreaking of its latest residential development in Greenfield, a vibrant mixed-use community in Lancaster. The ceremony, held today, marks the beginning of a transformative project that will significantly enhance the local housing landscape.
Mark Fitzgerald, President and Chief Operating Officer of High Real Estate Group, opened the event by welcoming attendees and expressing gratitude to the township officials, lenders, architects, and construction teams who have been instrumental in bringing this project to fruition. “We are excited to embark on this new chapter in Greenfield, bringing much-needed housing and infrastructure to the community. This project is a testament to the collaborative efforts of our partners and the trust placed in us by the public sector. Together, we are building more than just apartments; we are creating a vibrant, thriving community that will benefit residents for generations to come,” said Fitzgerald.
The new development, the largest residential project ever approved in East Lampeter Township, will feature 600 apartments across four, five-story buildings. Phase 1 will deliver 311 apartments with a pool and clubhouse, with Phase 2 adding another 289 apartments and 28 townhomes for rent along Willow Road. This project is not just about constructing buildings; it’s about creating homes and fostering a vibrant community.
Brad Mowbray, Senior Vice President and Managing Director of the Residential Division for High Associates Ltd., highlighted the collaborative efforts and support from the East Lampeter Township Supervisors, who partnered with High Associates through an $11 million state Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program grant. “This partnership underscores our commitment to enhancing the quality of life for residents of Lancaster County,” Mowbray stated.
State funding has been crucial in preparing the site for the new apartments, townhomes, and two new industrial buildings. The comprehensive site preparation includes demolition, erosion and sedimentation controls, stormwater management, earthwork, paving, concrete, and water and sewer utility mains.
In addition to the residential units, the development will benefit from the recently completed Walnut Street Extension, a $22 million investment that has alleviated peak-hour traffic congestion on Greenfield Road and has resulted in the delivery of an early section of the Greater Lancaster Heritage Pathway. This infrastructure improvement is a testament to High Real Estate Group’s commitment to enhancing multi-modal connectivity and infrastructure in the community.
As construction begins, High Real Estate Group remains committed to fostering a thriving community in Greenfield and is excited about the positive impact this development will bring for generations to come.
